About Kevin Lindeberg

Many years ago Kevin was born in Maryborough Queensland where he was raised by his parents along with his two brothers and sister.

He now lives in the quiet south Brisbane suburb of Capalaba with his wife and three children, and two cats.

Like most cartoonists, he discovered that he had a talent for drawing at an early age, and just loved to draw, especially horses. He developed his skills considerably since to now being one of Queensland's leading caricaturists, political cartoonists and book illustrators.

Along the way he has been a trade union organiser and also pursued a career in opera singing taking him from Maryborough to Brisbane, Sydney and London. He has performing leading roles in musicals Oklahoma and The Sentimental Bloke as well as performing in operas The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro, Cosi Fan Tuti and Faust.

In May 1990, when working as a trade union official, a major turning point in his life occurred which, amongst other things seeing him become knowledgeable in the administration of criminal justice and constitutional law, parliamentary procedures, open and accountable government and public recordkeeping, forced him to turn to his drawing talents as never before. Kevin has taught the art of cartoon in adult education institutions and at primary and high schools. He is a holder of the Queensland Government's Blue Card. He is open to incursion teaching sessions from any school.

He is regularly invited to conventions, corporate celebrations, company promotions, private birthday and wedding celebrations to ply his caricaturing skills which serve as a great "ice-breaker", memento, or company promotion item for clients.

He is open to caricaturing commissions throughout Australia and has travelled extensively from the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Townsville to Darwin, such is his popularity.

He is always open to caricaturing at conventions and functions. Potential clients are advised to book as far ahead as possible because of the constant demand on his talents.

He takes a very close interest in domestic and international current affairs to keep his political cartoons current and cutting. He receives commissions from politicians and various associations. His cartoons reflect his independent mind.

Kevin is the regular political cartoonist for the Queensland Transport Workers' Union journal The Transport Worker. He has illustrated several books, including bush poetry book Lickerty Spit and other Melting Moments by renown Australian bush poet Robyn Tesch. He was the cartoonist for the Queensland Law Society's Proctor magazine, and FAIRA's newspaper Land Rights Queensland. His commissioned cartoon of all members of the Australian Democrats is currently held by National Australian Archives.

His cartoons are finished with Photoshop 7 ready for printing.

Kevin is available for individual caricaturing commissions on A4, A3 or A2 sizes for birthdays or other special occasions with the price reasonable upon negotiation. A 3 day mimium period is required to complete most caricaturing commissions.

He does black and white, and coloured drawings. He generally requires 3 good close up photos of the person, and, in some cases, the transactions can be completed over the internet.

His aim is ensure that all clients are happy with what they pay for so that the drawing remains a cherished part of family and corporate memory.
